Athena is the goddess of war and wisdom and the protector of civilized life. She
was born out of Zeus's head, in armor and full-grown. Athena was Zeus's favorite child. He trusted her with his weapons, the
buckler and the thunderbolt.
Athena was the chief of the three virgin goddesses, and also called the Maiden Parthenos.
Her temple was the Parthenon.
Athens was Athena's city, it was also named after her. The olive tree was her gift, and her
animal was the owl.
